Mauritius considers Faisalabad a vibrant textile hub of Pakistan with businesses of great value. Keeping this in view, the island nation says it will open its consulate in the city, as it has in Karachi and Lahore, says the high commissioner of Mauritius. “There are enormous opportunities for trade and joint ventures between Mauritius and Pakistan and Mauritius will open its consulate in Faisalabad also,” said Mohammad Rashad Daureeawo while speaking to members of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). The high commissioner invited Pakistani entrepreneurs to form joint ventures in the Mauritius Exclusive Economic Zones that provide an opportunity to export to any African market. Highlighting the visa policy, he said the high commission issues visa within a day and to facilitate travel a direct air link also exists between Pakistan and Mauritius.
