Newsline: China tells Britain to stop harassment of new embassy in London

China has demanded that the British government protect its proposed £750 million embassy in London from “harassment” after warnings it will be targeted by human rights campaigners. An official report has highlighted concerns that mass demonstrations, particularly over China’s treatment of Uighur Muslims, will block major roads on the edge of the City of London and warns of terrorist threats. Ann Corbett, director of community safety at Tower Hamlets council, has told local police and the planning committee that protests could cause significant disruption to roads.
