Newsline: Poland has no plans to evacuate consulate, embassy from Ukraine

A Polish deputy foreign minister has said that, for now, there are no plans to evacuate the Polish consulate general from Lwow and the embassy from Kyiv. “…We do not plan to evacuate the embassy staff, who remained in Kyiv, nor Ambassador Bartosz Cichocki,” Szymon Szynkowski vel Sek told a Polish public radio programme on Tuesday. The deputy minister admitted, however, that the Polish diplomatic corps in Ukraine had been reduced. “The diplomatic staff have already left our consulates general in the cities, where fierce fighting has been taking place and where the security of our diplomats could be threatened, namely, Kharkiv, Odessa and Lutsk,” Szynkowski vel Sek said. Szynkowski vel Sek said that the Polish consulate general in Lwow “has been working very hard.”
